Jésus a refusé le pouvoir politique de Rome lorsque Satan l'a offert. Alors, pourquoi insistons-nous pour chercher la chose même que notre Maître a rejetée? Les enseignements de Jésus et de ses apôtres appellent les chrétiens à ne pas être “ sous un joug inégal ” avec ce monde et ses valeurs. Ce dont l'humanité a besoin, c'est de la Bonne Nouvelle du Royaume de Dieu et du salut fourni par Jésus-Christ. Puisque les “ formes ” de cet âge actuel “ disparaissent ”, l'Église devrait-elle cesser de gaspiller ses efforts à “ travailler pour la viande qui périt ”?

Les propagandistes de l'Empire encouragent les hommes et les femmes à prêter allégeance et vénération à l'Empereur, la Bête de la Mer . “ Le Faux Prophète ” tel que décrit dans le  Livre de l'Apocalypse  utilise le symbolisme religieux et le contrôle économique pour persuader les habitants de l'Empire de payer un tribut au Trône impérial. Que ce trompeur utilise la force ou la persuasion, le but est le même. Les hommes qui refusent d'adorer la “ Bête de la Mer ” sont exclus de l'activité économique et appauvris.

The Empire’s propagandists encourage men and women to give allegiance and veneration to the Emperor, the Beast from the Sea . The “ False Prophet ” as described in the  Book of Revelation  uses religious symbolism and economic control to coax the Inhabitants of the Empire   to pay homage to the Imperial Throne. Whether force or persuasion is employed, the goal is the same. Men who refuse to venerate the “ Beast from the Sea ” are excluded from economic activity and impoverished.

Jesus refused the political power of Rome when Satan offered it. So, why do we insist on seeking the very thing our Master rejected? The teachings of Jesus and his Apostles in multiple ways summon Christians not to be “ unequally yoked together ” with this world and its values. What humanity needs is the Good News of the Kingdom of God and the salvation provided by Jesus Christ. Since the “ forms ” of this present age are in the process of “ passing away ,” the Church should not waste its efforts on “ working for the meat that perishes ”?

The Gift of the Spirit demonstrates beyond question who belongs to the Holy Covenant Community of Jesus, and who does not . In the assemblies of Galatia, “ false brethren ” were preaching “ another gospel ,” pressuring Gentile believers to adopt circumcision and conform to other regulations of the Mosaic Law.   Paul repudiated the very idea and sent the Galatians a series of arguments demonstrating why Gentiles need not be circumcised.

The Son of Destruction will use deceitful signs and lying wonders to mislead many saints into abandoning the Faith – 2 Thessalonians 2:8-9. The “ Day of the Lord ” will not begin until the “ Man of Lawlessness ” is revealed when he “ seats himself   in the Sanctuary of God .” His arrival will coincide with the “ Apostasy .” This Master Deceiver will be characterized by his ability to hoodwink believers using “ signs and wonders .”
